Vyv Hope-Scott

Vyv Hope-Scott is an artist and composer based in Bristol, UK. His work is mostly abstract, with an underlying sense of landscape and architecture. Images often exploit different surface textures using mixed media and found objects. More recently he has begun to include technological artefacts – half-tone screens, electronic circuit diagrams etc – and figurative motifs from classical art – architectural details, baroque flourishes, even occasional putti.  He acknowledges the influence of many 20th Century artists, from the Spanish painters Antoni Tapies, Eduardo Chillida and Pablo Picasso to Albert Irvin, Sigma Polke, and Cy Twombly.
